Professional Medical Interpreter

I have been working as a Mandarin interpreter for a year. I am working towards becoming a conference interpreter for business meetings, I attended the medical interpretation class at New York University. I was invited to teach working professions Chinese who will be working in China whose native language is English. I believe in the practical value of knowing the language and I am thrilled to share my knowledge through my working experience, how I was able to assist doctors with living saving procedures. I want to show how far a language degree/certificate can take someone.

Emory University

Emory grad with over 12 years experience tutoring Math, Science, English, Foreign Language, and Test Prep

As an avid learner, I always encourage learning in others. I have been tutoring since 2011. In that time, I have helped over 200 students of all ages prepare for over 50 subjects, standardized tests (ACT, SAT, ISEE, SSAT, GRE, GMAT), and foreign languages (Latin, Arabic, Spanish). I began tutoring professionally in my Sophomore year at Emory as a class aide and then branched out to tutoring privately, which I have been doing ever since. On average, my students see 10-15% increases in their scores within 4-8 regular sessions, and some students have seen as high as 30% increases. I tutor not only the content by essential test-taking strategy geared towards each test to make sure students are making the most out of their time. I possess a wealth of knowledge in many areas, but one of the things that I find fun about learning is seeing how subjects connect to the real world. This is one of my greatest strengths as a tutor as I show students the different ways in which their studies connect to the world, their ambitions, and interests.

Information Systems | Security + | Python

Hello! I am new to tutoring, but have a few years of teaching experience - from training new employees and teaching merit badge classes, to dedicating 2 years of my life to teaching moral principles and family values as a missionary. I understand that the key to learning is having an objective and a plan to reach that objective. I graduated with a bachelors degree in MIS this year and will begin a masters degree at CMU this fall. I am excited for the opportunity to share knowledge and help students grow in their technical abilities in order to gain employment in the future, or to pass a class now. I provide tutoring for information systems classes, Python, and preparing for the Security + certification.
