Hi, i'm Mr. Black, I am a mathematics and physics teacher, tutor and coach. I like to focus on my students individual goals no matter what they may be. We are all different and that is an important thing. Some of us want to pursue trades school, some want to study the cosmos, both are equally important. I will personally tailor lessons towards your specific goals and help you reach them. Maybe you only need help with homework. Or, you want to improve in mathematics and problem solving in general. Perhaps you are looking to enter a STEM program and want to get the best preparation possible. In our first meeting we will discuss your goals and each lesson will be curated to reach them. Mathematics is often confusing because people do not see the pattern. Once the pattern is found, the math is clear. I will help guide you towards seeing the patterns and understanding the mathematics so you do not feel like your learning a million different things. One of my skills that i've developed over the many years as a math educator is being able to diagnose the underlying problem by asking a few simple questions. Once it is clear what you are misunderstanding, I will provide a set of problems and questions which are designed meticulously to bring you from your level to the level you want to be. I like to remind my students that they are smart and creative and they can become better at math just like any other activity or sport; through practice. In this case, guided practice. I will be a coach, a teacher, a tutor, and at times perhaps a peer since my students surprise me all the time with their unique abilities. I want to show you that you can be good at math and it might just require a change of perspective on the subject. Math can be fun and engaging and isnt just a bunch of recipes and instructions. I have lots of experience building fun and creative problems, puzzles and games for math contests and K12 math. I hope to share my passion for math with you!

In elementary and middle school, math and science were my favourite subjects, and I loved learning all the cool things in it. Now I'm in the IB program, and although they're a tiny more difficult now, the joy I feel when I understand a concept well is a joy I wish to share with little kids 🥳🧪🧮 P.S I make cute worksheets :) ~ I offer: ~ - Tutoring - Assignment/Homework Help - A Free 15-Minute Demo for Potential Students 👩🏽🎓 ~ Availability ~ I am available all weekdays except Thursday after 4:30 p.m., and avaliable all day on Saturday and Sunday.

Currently, a student at the University of Alberta in their Faculty of Education's Second Year Majoring in Math working towards a Bachelors of Education (Secondary) Degree to one day teach High School - University Level Math. Passionate in the way students are taught and learn how to effectively use math in an increasingly more complicated world. Enthusiastic and loving, hopeful and kind, and will bring out the best in your students. I have tutored privately for more than 7 years and taught in a group (classroom-like) setting for more than a year now, students have gone from failing to passing over the course of weeks working together and believe that any student with the right mindset and focus/determination can accomplish anything whether that be in the realm of math or something else. I tutor Elementary Math, Middle School Math, Pre-Algebra, Algebra, Pre Calculus, Calculus I & II, Geometry, and More and love it!! Why? because a hard work ethic based on a foundation of the kind of problem-solving skills you gain from elementary to complex math not only teaches one individual that there is more than one way to come to a correct answer but also teaches that same individual never to give up and to try new things regardless of how many times they need to start again. Math also teaches us that after coming to the right answer there will be things or events that confirm our work, given that nearly all math can be cross-checked to prove itself right. outside of Math, I enjoy taking some time to hang out with close friends and loved ones, to play chess and to watch movies.

Hi there, and welcome! I'm a PhD student in Physics at Queen's University in Kingston, Ontario. Prior to this, I got my Master's of Mathematics at the University of Waterloo in Applied Math, and a Bachelor of Mathematics studying Mathematical Physics. My research interests are at the intersection of astrophysics, particle physics, cosmology, and gravitational waves. I have been tutoring students since high school as a volunteer peer tutor in math and physics, and decided to continue tutoring throughout university. At the University of Waterloo I was a private tutor for several courses (see below), where I helped several students improve their academic performances. I've also been a teaching assistant for many courses at both the University of Waterloo and Queen's University (see below), and was awarded an Outstanding TA Award for my contributions. If you're struggling in your classes, or if you just want to deepen your understanding of physics and mathematics, then you've come to the right place! Please don't hesitate to reach out if you had any questions! ---------- To see if we'd be a good fit, the first 15 minutes of the first session is free! After that we can decide whether to continue working together.
