Hi, I am Tutor Douglas. My English-teaching career started during early childhood. Since my father was in the Air Force, every few years we moved from one Air Force base to another; consequently, my childhood friends from many different countries were interested in learning the English language. It became incumbent upon me to teach it to them. My exposure, at a young age, to many languages and language teaching incepted a lifelong English educational journey for me. It began with the acquisition of a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications-Journalism at a university in the U.S. I then hosted a nationwide radio show in the U.S. for two years where I received intense coaching toward the refinement of my accent and pronunciation. For nine years, I owned and managed a call center that serviced U.S. law firms. My daily correspondence with the attorneys was instrumental in my personal development of an advanced business vocabulary. For four of the nine years, my call center was based in the Philippines where I gained valuable experience teaching American English to Filipino employees. As you can see, my childhood English-teaching experience and subsequent English educational journey have prepared me to be where I am today, working with Tutor Ocean, one of the most prolific language-tutoring companies in the world. I assist Tutor Ocean clients with Conversational English, pronunciation, accent, vocabulary, and grammar.
