Veteran Educator Who Loves Tutoring

I have enjoyed educating students for more than two decades. I have been licensed to teach math and English in public schools at the middle- and high-school levels and was a high school math teacher for seventeen years in Massachusetts. I have taught small group math, algebra 1, algebra 2, geometry, precalculus, and calculus. I've taught English, too, and I can often help students with other subjects, as well. I've always found tutoring and extra help to be a favorite part of working as an educator. In fact, I became a teacher after tutoring for several years and loving it. Almost all of my many tutoring students were referred to me by satisfied parents. I listen carefully to my students so I can teach them where they are; it's the best way to start them on their way to where they need to go.

I am also in my second year of college, studying bioengineering, so I have college-level experience with physics, calculus, chemistry, biology, and other engineering courses. I took fifteen AP courses in high school and got a 36 on the ACT, so I am familiar with the testing formats.

UNIVERSITY OF TORONTO

I believe that when it comes to grasping difficult concepts notably in physics and mathematics, there are multiple ways to make it look elementary, the learning process becomes much easier.

I'm currently pursuing my graduate degree in Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry from the University of Toronto. I completed my Bachelors of Technology in Chemical Engineering from VIT University, India. Throughout my undergrad, I have been a core and later on a board member of AIChE, during which I have participated in quite a few K-12 events that involved going to schools around my university and teaching STEM subjects to the students there. Though, I have a number of favorite subjects, Maths, English, Physics and History are among the ones I feel most confident about mainly because these have been favorites since school. I believe that when it comes to grasping difficult concepts notably in physics and mathematics, there are multiple ways to make it look elementary, then the learning process becomes much easier and faster. In my opinion, with the world advancing at a rapid rate, the importance of education is clearly very evident and so is the act of gaining and imparting knowledge as it allows us to comprehend and question all that is happening around us. I try to utilize my free time by watching anime, reading some fiction and listening to true crime podcasts.

I LOVE teaching and problem-solving, especially to students with learning disabilities. We do not all learn the same, so I create unique approaches tailored to each individual student.

I am a dedicated nursing grad student with a diverse background in both human and animal medicine. I also have 14+ years working with kids of all ages. I have a bachelors in Animal Science and am currently getting my Masters in nursing, (current GPA 3.93.) I love reading, writing and history in addition to the sciences. I have a lot of patience and am excited for all opportunities to teach others :)
