It is my belief that something is not understood until it is fully and clearly explained. Every time I presented a lesson, I tried to present it in a way relatable to each individual student. My own understanding increased from helping to ease students of their confusions in Mathematical, Historical, or Scientific topics, to reading books and giving group lectures about them, my experiences as a tutor have increased my ability to explain and teach. Taking care of children has always been one of my major passions. Watching children grow, explore and learn has been a rewarding experience that excites me. Their imagination, innocence and creativity are highly enjoyable. Teaching them through art, reading, and outdoor observations offers them the knowledge that they may need in school and later life as they grow up. Every time I nurture a child's interests, I help him or her become a better, brighter individual who can become a successful adult. Patience. The most important criteria in being a tutor of any subject is patience. The students who I have taught have gotten at least one problem wrong in my sessions with them. I have never become upset with the student, since I am there to help them understand the lesson, not to encourage them to become more frustrated over not comprehending the content. I always just remain calm and never lose my temper. I give the student time to complete the problem and give him or her hints to help him or her remember a missing step.

I hold a BA (Hons.), MA degree in English and have completed Part 1 of the TESL designation except the Practicum (Teaching English as a Second Language). I have also completed Post Diploma in Human Resources Management, Diploma in Business Operations, and Graduate in International Business Management from Centennial College. I had Science Background - I studied Physics, Chemistry, Maths, and Biology in 9th-12th Class. I am familiar with Mathematics, English and Science curriculums with access to fast and reliable internet connection. Previously, I have taught at a tuition centre to students of various grades. This enables me to guide students of various backgrounds and abilities. I enjoy tutoring online as it provides both the student and me the flexibility to engage in the material from our own respective spaces. I have the ability to reinforce study skills with the appropriate use of study aids, examples, and tools. I believe my excellent written and verbal communication skills and superb interpersonal skills would help sufficiently motivate students to master their study material and achieve academic success. I possess good time management skills and organizational skills. As well, my excellent attention to detail, excellent problem solving and decision-making skills equip me with the capability to pin-point student errors and difficulty in grasping their academic material and provide instant 1-on-1 feedback with clear, detailed explanations for students.

Over 150 hours teaching experience in a mixture of MATLAB and Python, particularly to beginners who find it difficult to grasp programming. I'm currently doing my PhD in medical imaging at University College London (UCL). Graduated with a first class honours MEng degree from Biomedical Engineering at UCL. Wide knowledge in maths, physics and biology but mostly teach Python and MATLAB. I love teaching intro to MALTAB in particular as many people find it difficult to get into in engineering if they have never done programming before. I also have some experience in teaching web development with Flask or with Javascript, React and Express. In comparison to a classroom, having a tutor is different in the sense that I am able to see what the pace of the class should be depending on how fast the student grasps certain concepts, and what parts is the student struggling the most at. My teaching style really depends on the understanding of the student, their age, and the subject we are learning. I always however, love to implement visual representations of concepts. The best thing about science is when you can make extremely complicated idea something easy to understand, because that is when creativity comes in. Sometimes, especially for younger kids when they still don`t have a very detailed image of science, this is the best moment to be creative and share the love for science.

The University of Manchester
Hi, this is Heena! I am currently doing an MSc in Public Policy and Management at The University of Manchester. I achieved 8A* and 2As in my GCSE O-Levels in all science subjects and scored an A* in Mathematics and As in Physics and Biology in A-levels. I have been teaching GCSE Maths since appearing for my A-Levels, which has allowed me to develop a fantastic grasp on not only the material but the best way to convey it! I am a fun-loving, friendly person with a pleasant demeanor. My optimistic nature helps me develop a rapport with all my students, making learning all the more enjoyable for us. The general framework that I use, tweak and personalize for each student is as follows: 1. Gauging the student’s current ability 2. Developing a schedule/timetable with concrete milestones with input from the student 3. Theory-based learning 4. Practice 5. Some more practice! My go-to method to help students is past paper practice, as it allows us to cover a broad range of topics, learn exam-specific tips and tricks and, more importantly, build the student's confidence in their ability to solve an actual exam. Sticking to recent past papers ensures that our learning meets the latest requirement and is specific to the student's exam board and tier. I can support your child on a one-off or a regular basis, including homeschooled students. If you're reading this and like what you see, don't hesitate to drop me a message!

I have been tutoring in math and english since I was a sophomore in high school. I spent a year as a math instructor at Mathnasium of Plainsboro, a center that is part of a franchise that consists of more than 700 centers that give math instruction for kids in K-12. Throughout my time at Mathnasium, I have tutored students in first to eleventh grades in elementary and middle school math, pre-algebra, algebra 1 and 2, trigonometry, and geometry. I am now a private tutor in Manhattan, and I tutor all K-12 math subjects, up to introductory college chemistry, and SAT/ACTs. I've scored a composite score of 35 out of 36 on the ACTs and have achieved a perfect score on both the English and Reading sections, while I scored 1 point away from a perfect in math. I have also taken and scored well on SAT subject tests including SAT Math 2, SAT Chemistry, and SAT Biology. During high school I have taken math classes including geometry honors, advanced algebra 2 honors, pre-calculus honors, and AP Calculus AB and I have taken science classes including biology honors, chemistry honors, physics honors, AP Chemistry, AP Biology, and Human Anatomy and Physiology.
