These opportunities include being a TA for two MIT undergraduate courses and as a teacher in biology and chemistry in an MIT international teaching program in Germany. --AP Experience-- I possess experience tutoring topics including AP Calculus AB, AP Biology, AP Chemistry, AP U.S. Government, AP U.S. History, AP World History, AP Literature and Composition, and AP Language and Composition. --SAT Experience-- I have extensively studied strategies regarding how to approach SAT style mathematics and reading/writing questions and ultimately received a 770 on both of the aforementioned sections on the SAT. Thus, provided this experience, I am confident that I will be able to provide and explain the exercises necessary for any student to improve their score. My lessons will be divided by subject and components, with exercises and real SAT practice problems that aid in further understanding and solidifying approaches to different questions. The aforementioned preparation will include a personalized SAT schedule that I formulate to accommodate the needs of each individual student. Via the given method, I have aided one individual in improving their score by over 300 points throughout the duration of a singular month. I intend to not merely critique the technical errors of a given student's essay, but rather to provide insight upon the diction and style of the writing. After studying for the SAT for years (since the 8th grade), I have an extremely comprehensive experience with the exam and its questions. In my first attempt, I was able to score a 1460 and on the second, I raised that to a 1540 (99th percentile). After this, I felt very confident in my ability to share my knowledge and experiences in mastering the SAT. So, I decided to start tutoring my friends and other students at my local library. I directly worked with 3-4 students at a time and provided them with very useful tips and tricks to rapidly improve their math scores on the SAT. After seeing the improved results of the students I tutored, I became very passionate about tutoring SAT Test prep. In my tutoring lessons, I will start off by understanding students' baseline scores, their goals, and the areas that they wish to improve. During tutoring, I will explain online by going through official SAT Test Prep lesson plans and then go on to explicitly teach them the concepts necessary to answer questions on all sections of the SAT. Focusing on weaknesses and motivating students to continue practicing problems consistently is my specialty and it has gone to improve their SAT scores significantly. I will also provide several resources to find SAT test problems online and practice with real tests as well.

I didn't understand why I had to sit still and why I wasn't allowed to make my own schedule and explore my own interests. It was so hard for me to focus on subjects that I didn't enjoy and to sit still for a long period of time. As an adult, I realized how much I would've benefitted from a teacher that would take the time to teach me in a way my brain could understand. Someone who cared about MY interests and passions and would use that information to engage me in subjects I wasn't as crazy about. Someone who could be patient and creative and who believed in me! I ended up becoming the type of teacher I always needed as a kid. I care about my students and their individual paths and truly believe that we all have our own unique way of learning! For the last 5 years, I’ve been teaching music to children of all ages. I've worked in a couple of different music schools as well as my own private lessons teaching piano, guitar, and vocal training. I teach my students to write music using the skills they already had while also developing new ones. I’ve found songwriting to be not only an amazing tool for my own life, but to be an amazing way for children to express their feelings and use their imagination and creativity. With my extensive experience in music, songwriting and music education, i've found that I have the expertise to teach reading, writing, and speech.
