My name is Barbara and I am a practicing clinical psychologist that taught psychology at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the United Kingdom for 7 years. I am currently a Senior Researcher in an university based in Portugal. My areas of expertise are clinical psychology, counselling and mental health. I am very passionate about mental health and I strive to improve equality, diversity and quality in mental health care. I was a programme leader of a postgraduate programme with clinical placements in low intensity Cognitive Behavioural Therapy in the UK. I acted as well as a clinical mentor, advisor and supervisor. My research area of expertise is cognitive behavioural therapy and models in psychosis, social anxiety, mood disorders and personality disorders. I have supervised several successful research projects and dissertations at both undergraduate and postgraduate levels. I provided statistical support for the analyses conducted by students and helped students to progress and to achieve their goals by empowering them and guiding them through their learning journey. I also taught tutorials on academic skills (e.g., essay writing, referencing, writing of quantitative and qualitative reports in psychological research, etc.).
