Harvard M.Ed. to Help You Achieve Your Dreams!

I graduated summa cum laude from Boston University (B.A. English) and then from Harvard (M.Ed). I am an enthusiastic teacher who believes that the best learning occurs when you are having fun. Great learning means that you won't realize how hard you work to improve because it won't feel like "work." My students are always my number one priority, and they have a lot to say about their experiences. Gene C. says, "I want to thank you for all the help you’ve given me...I had class with you for a little more than two years, and during that time you influenced not only how I write, but also how I think about and approach a problem at hand...You are undoubtedly one of the most influential teachers I have had. I will be attending Princeton University this coming fall and I am quite excited to see what I will learn there. I just wanted to let you know the impact you have made on your students and I know you will continue to inspire your students, just as you have helped me grow academically and mentally." Each course is designed with your strengths and weaknesses in mind, from which I will provide a unique curriculum and individualized practice material. The focus of this curriculum is to challenge you and, as soon as you have achieved a new level, to raise the bar again. I look forward to teaching and learning with you!

Ivy League Educated Tutor in Writing, English, French, and SAT/ACT

Hi! My name is Ben and I believe that you're deserving of a higher grade and a better score. You just need the key to unlock that potential. I am a PhD student at Stanford University with 10 years of tutoring experience. From my time at Columbia University, where I graduated summa cum laude in English and Comparative Literature, I have been helping students improve their writing abilities, hone their language skills in English and French, and ace their SATs and ACTs with high scores. I tailor my teaching style to my students' needs, focusing on using their strengths to bolster their weaknesses. Writing well or scoring highly on a standardized test are as much a matter of tactics and strategy as they are a matter of gathering knowledge.

English Tutor/ESL(EFL) Tutor/Accent Coach

I teach English the Oxford way, but I can provide insight into both American and British English. I am a no nonsense teacher. I will not waste my time or yours, or your MONEY, I will get straight to the goal in mind. Suitable for students/parents of students who demand results and value for their hard earned money. I have worked as an ESL instructor with students from all age groups and a variety of different classes, from all-boys/girls to co-ed and from beginner (A1) to upper intermediate (B2). As a tutor I have engaged in more intense teaching methods, as my students were more result oriented, demanding my round the clock guidance and supervision. I teach English (ESL/EFL) as 5 skills (the 5th being Cultural Awareness) as opposed to the traditional 4 skills (Reading, Writing, Speaking & Listening), so you can rest assured knowing you'll be learning an English that isn't outdated, old fashioned and archaic. If you're looking to prep for IELTS/TOEFL/GMAT/SAT, then I'm detail-oriented tutor you're looking for, I'll prep you like you've never been prepped before, ready to knock the test out! 😁 If you're an actor or just looking to reduce your accent then I'm tutor you need, with a diverse academic background in Phonology & Linguistics, and a keen ear, I'll be able to get speaking with any accent you wish.

Experienced Math Tutor for 10 years

It is my belief that something is not understood until it is fully and clearly explained. Every time I presented a lesson, I tried to present it in a way relatable to each individual student. My own understanding increased from helping to ease students of their confusions in Mathematical, Historical, or Scientific topics, to reading books and giving group lectures about them, my experiences as a tutor have increased my ability to explain and teach. Taking care of children has always been one of my major passions. Watching children grow, explore and learn has been a rewarding experience that excites me. Their imagination, innocence and creativity are highly enjoyable. Teaching them through art, reading, and outdoor observations offers them the knowledge that they may need in school and later life as they grow up. Every time I nurture a child's interests, I help him or her become a better, brighter individual who can become a successful adult. Patience. The most important criteria in being a tutor of any subject is patience. The students who I have taught have gotten at least one problem wrong in my sessions with them. I have never become upset with the student, since I am there to help them understand the lesson, not to encourage them to become more frustrated over not comprehending the content. I always just remain calm and never lose my temper. I give the student time to complete the problem and give him or her hints to help him or her remember a missing step.
