I majored in both Social Work and Psychology. I also did 6 months of practical work at Youth for Christ, an organization in Durban.

My studies were focused on understanding how a hotel runs however the focus was more on the management side as opposed to cookery.This was a traineeship program therefore I was almost a part time student and full time trainee working in diffferent 4* hotels.

I assisted students with practicing and polishing their English speaking ability. I have conversations with them where I help correct grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation errors. I give oral feedback during the session and written feedback after the session. Through the written feedback, I am also able to recommend sources to help the student improve on whatever issues they might have.

I was assigned to work first at a health facility and then I was moved to a high school. I assisted clients with issues especially pertaining to Gender-Based VIolence and any trauma they may have experienced. I also ran awareness campaigns about topics like Gender-Based-Violence, child protection and trauma.

There was a homework club that was setup by the church. I assisted learners between ages 7 and 13 years with homework for all their school subjects. I also helped them practice speaking and writing English.
