2019 - 2021Master of Science, Immunology
For my MSc thesis; I engineered Fc modified malaria specific monoclonal antibodies with enhanced immune potency.
I acquired various skills in molecular biology including plasmid cloning, protein expression, purification and characterization. I trained on parasite and cell culture, ELISA, Flow cytometry and Statistics.
I also participated in teaching undergraduate students in good research practices including scientific writing and communication.
University of Nairobi
2014 - 2018Bachelor of Science, Microbiology and Biotechnology
My undergraduate project was on isolation and characterization of fecal coliform bacteria on Catha edulis (Miraa/Khat) leaves.
I isolated Gram +ve and -ve bacteria from leaves sampled directly from the farm and retail kiosks.
I saw a significant bacterial load on leaves sampled from retail kiosks compared to those sampled from the farm.
During this time, I did voluntary work on diabetes awareness and did an internship at Kenya Medical Research Institute.
