About

I am a current senior at Michigan State University studying Elementary Education with a focus in Language Arts and a minor in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages. I have always had a true passion for education, and language specifically. I have experience in elementary classroom PreK-4th dating back to 2016, and have worked with students virtually and in person in one-on-one settings, small groups, and whole class. I am dedicated to the success of students and believe that everyone deserves their fair and equal chance at quality education! I am a Language Arts focus at MSU, and also an avid writer and reader myself. I have worked with students one-on-one in giving formal literacy assessments, completing classwork, and getting an extra step ahead. I have completed 3 1/2 years of coursework in elementary reading, writing, and literacy skills. I have worked in elementary classrooms starting at Pre-K all the way up to fourth grade, specifically helping students work on handwriting and reading skills. I have taught whole-class and small groups lessons about new reading skills, phonics, and more! I have experience giving and grading spelling tests, and helping students correct errors and knowing what to focus on moving forward.
