About

I worked as a mentor and tutor at River City Youth Foundation in Austin, Texas in which I tutored 30+ underprivileged students in grades K-12. I was responsible for recognizing the students’ academic challenges and focusing on those topics during our time together as well as help them on their assigned homework. I also constructed practice problems, arranged activities for students after homework sessions, and communicated with the students’ parents on a weekly basis to provide progress updates. I also volunteered as a tutor at Posada Esperanza Transitional Housing Program where I aided Spanish-only speaking students enhance their reading skills and learn the English language. Additionally, I tutored the students in math and science. I have a strong backgrounds in math and science. I earned a Bachelors in Biochemistry from The University of Texas at Austin. I developed helpful learning strategies during my time studying and preparing for the MCAT medical school entrance exam and aim to continue developing my skills and knowledge to best meet students’ academic needs.
