About

I'm currently a university student starting my 3rd year, studying psychology and cognitive neuroscience with a special interest in genetics and the impact of genetics on the brain's behavior. I've tutored many subjects (especially languages, math, study skills, and science) as a peer tutor in middle and high school, working with ages 10-18. I also worked as an Au Pair teaching children English as a foreign language (ages 5, 6 and 10). I have a lot of experience working as a tutor for children. And having been a peer tutor, I'm also very good at adapting my tutoring style to best meet the needs of my student at any age. I'm a TEFL certified ESL teacher. I believe the best part of tutoring/teaching is helping people find passion for subjects they find difficult. I love to find ways to engage students who are experiencing frustration so they can learn to enjoy their learning again. My approach to tutoring is working with my student to determine their goals and then finding the most natural way to achieve those goals. I like to integrate a student's own interests into whatever subject they're struggling with to make the subject more approachable and understandable.
