About

I obtained my Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in Chemistry (Hons.) in 2018 and my Masters in Teaching and Learning (MTL) in Science Education in 2022. At 27 years old, I have taught in several schools, private tuition companies, summer schools and science engagement start-ups. I have experience in different educational contexts and am flexible in my teaching as I adapt and centre my lessons entirely around my students' needs.

University of Malta

2019 - 2022
Masters in Teaching and Learning (MTL) in Science Education, Education
This course allowed me to: Demonstrate the ability to transform content knowledge into pedagogical knowledge in a manner that addresses the needs of all students. Demonstrate knowledge of the Curriculum, different aspects of the Learning and Teaching process and issues of Assessment, thus being in a position to provide positive experiences to all students in their educational journey, Design lessons, classroom activities etc. that put the well-being of students and their families at the heart of education. Recognise and value the powerful role that teachers have in influencing the lives of children, youths and their careers. Recognise and value the advocacy role that teachers have between the student and the educational institutions, their structures and policies. Demonstrate the ability to nurture and develop the relationship between teacher and students. Justify and defend that individual students need different support in their education process, Recognise the political role that education has for the State, and how this is reflected in policies and institutional structures, Theorise about ‘becoming-teacher’ as an ongoing process of growth. Rather than seeing oneself as ‘being a teacher’, the focus is on the constant process of ‘becoming-teacher’. This implies that one is to reflect continuously about one’s own practices and the education institutions one is working in. Recognise and value that research is seen not only as production of knowledge but also part of the reflective process in becoming-teachers.

University of Malta

2015 - 2018
Bachelor of Science (BSc.) in Chemistry, Science
This course enabled me to: Recall and explain of essential facts, concepts, principles and theories relating to different fields of chemistry. Apply such knowledge and understanding to the solution of both qualitative and quantitative problems in chemistry. Recognise and analyse problems and plan strategies for your solution. Handle chemical materials safely. Document laboratory procedures involved in experimental work in organic, inorganic, physical and analytical chemistry. Apply numerical and mathematical methods areas outside the field of study.
