Knowledgeable and Passionate Health and Biological Sciences Tutor

Tutor Information

About

Hi There! I'm a second year student in the PharmD program at the University of Toronto. My experience is mainly in the health related and biological sciences. I love to teach and help others understand topics they find difficult. I also find that in doing this I'm able to have a better understanding myself. The sciences can be difficult and confusing at times, but I've seen over and over that finding the right approach to learning (and a good teacher) can really make a difference! I have some prior experience tutoring through Queen's University's Indigenous Academics program during my time at the school. I've also volunteered during my high school years at a community centre where I taught elementary school age students in various subjects. Currently, I have a knowledge base that allows me to teach elementary, junior high and high school level sciences, as well as 1st and 2nd year university biological and health related sciences. These include: general science and biology, biochemistry, physiology, anatomy, pharmacology and organic chemistry.

Tutor
I tutored a 1st year Health Sciences student in an introductory statistics course, HSCI 190, at Queen's University. We met once or twice a week depending on her needs and covered concepts she had difficulty with. I also reviewed her final paper for the course and gave her feedback prior to her submitting it. I was hired through the university based on my academic standing and paired with the student for the semester she was taking the course.
