Hi everyone! My name is Sayuri. I recently graduated from the Macaulay Honors College at the College of Staten Island with a Bachelor of Science in Biology on the pre-med track.
I have always had a passion for tutoring. I will be tutoring in Biology in the middle school and high school level. As I tutor, I will focus on working with you to clarify any topics that you might be struggling with or anything that you might need some extra help with.
Everyone learns differently, so I like to use my first session to gain a better understanding of your learning style, and identify your goals so we can achieve them together!

Crisis Text Line
January 2022 - presentVolunteer Crisis Counselor
As a crisis text line counselor, I conduct conversations with texters experiencing different types of struggles. I support texters in identifying problems, determining a desired goal to help them with their wellbeing and discovering next steps to achieve this goal. I provide approved resources that could help the texter in achieving their desired goal. Additionally, I perform risk assessment and identified imminent risk texters and work collaboratively with supervisors in active rescue missions.

I worked with a medical assistant to obtain patient vitals; assumed these responsibilities upon completion of training. I assisted staff with paperwork and other administrative matters.
