I have a TESOL certificate and a BA degree in Applied Languages. In addition, I am half Japanese so I can bridge cultural differences with Japanese students! There will be a strong focus on speaking and listening skills. I usually start the lesson with a specific topic, and a short piece of text, or a short video. To introduce new vocabulary and grammar. we will then practice the new vocabulary and grammar, naturally within the topic of discussion. Depending on what the students’ goal is, we will use different textbooks and oftentimes I design my own methods.
