My private lessons are perfect for those who need the language for studies, employment or moving abroad. Together, you get to learn the language in a personal way where the study plan is based on your wishes and goals. You are given the opportunity to learn French, Spanish, Arabic or English language at your own pace. I'll help you develop a customized study plan based on your goals. I've been teaching private language lessons during my student life to earn an extra income and I discovered that is my passion. I continued doing it even after I graduated. Nice to meet you, my name is Elsa. As a lover of languages (I've learned Spanish fluently and am onto learning more advanced Hebrew!), I know what the process of learning one is like. It's a constant game of "leveling up," even of taking two steps forward to take one step back. It's a lot! This is why I'm here to help. Beyond loving languages, I love teaching. I have one year of practical classroom teaching experience with multiple subjects, including English and middle east history. Knowing what language learning is all about, I know that being thrown into the deep end can actually be the most beneficial. It's a myth that you need to know all the grammar and vocabulary to speak! So, my method is to focus on the most relevant conversational topics for your level, and pick at the details for learning from there. I can't wait to begin our journey together!

I tutor maths, physics, chemistry, Latin, and Spanish; ACT, SAT, and SSAT. Our first 30 min. are free. What I meant above is that, in my experience, when we know the basics of a topic/start from a framework, we learn more thoroughly, remember more consistently, and generally have a better time engaging with a subject. I request of my students, "Please don't agree with me, ever, unless I ask you to." Instead, let's build from the ground up, staying on the same page as we head toward a goal or explore an idea. More fulfilling than asking "what?" is asking "why?" That's how I love to teach (on a good day anyway), so please let me know if I can be of service.

As an avid learner, I always encourage learning in others. I have been tutoring since 2011. In that time, I have helped over 200 students of all ages prepare for over 50 subjects, standardized tests (ACT, SAT, ISEE, SSAT, GRE, GMAT), and foreign languages (Latin, Arabic, Spanish). I began tutoring professionally in my Sophomore year at Emory as a class aide and then branched out to tutoring privately, which I have been doing ever since. On average, my students see 10-15% increases in their scores within 4-8 regular sessions, and some students have seen as high as 30% increases. I tutor not only the content by essential test-taking strategy geared towards each test to make sure students are making the most out of their time. I possess a wealth of knowledge in many areas, but one of the things that I find fun about learning is seeing how subjects connect to the real world. This is one of my greatest strengths as a tutor as I show students the different ways in which their studies connect to the world, their ambitions, and interests.

Hi my name is Lacey Gordon, I recently graduated from the University of Kentucky, and I am currently taking a gap year doing research before I apply to medical school. I have extensive background in neuroscience and biology, as well as other courses required for pre-medical students like: physics, general chemistry, organic chemistry, biochemistry, and related science electives. I took four years of Spanish as well and feel confident in assisting those having to fill foreign language credits at their universities.
