What I meant above is that, in my experience, when we know the basics of a topic/start from a framework, we learn more thoroughly, remember more consistently, and generally have a better time engaging with a subject. I request of my students, "Please don't agree with me, ever, unless I ask you to." Instead, let's build from the ground up, staying on the same page as we head toward a goal or explore an idea. As an avid learner, I always encourage learning in others. I have been tutoring since 2011. In that time, I have helped over 200 students of all ages prepare for over 50 subjects, standardized tests (ACT, SAT, ISEE, SSAT, GRE, GMAT), and foreign languages (Latin, Arabic, Spanish). I began tutoring professionally in my Sophomore year at Emory as a class aide and then branched out to tutoring privately, which I have been doing ever since. I tutor not only the content by essential test-taking strategy geared towards each test to make sure students are making the most out of their time.
