Hi! My name is Hannah and I am a freshman at IU Bloomington! MUSIC THEORY is a HARD class. I have taken it three times! I tutor the students in my music theory classes as well as my professor's students in his lower classes. I love sharing my knowledge of music and would like nothing more than to help others understand and love it as well. PROOFREADING is something I enjoy doing. Through proofreading all of my friends' essays over the years, I have gotten quite good at it. I am more than happy to proofread any essay sent my way. I LOVE MATH, I want to share my passion for problem solving and show others how it doesn't have to be frustrating and boring. I LOVE EDITING and WRITING, so please let me help make writing fun and easy! Being the grammar police isn't a bad thing... My favorite things are my dog, my fish, the mountains, and school;) Math is my jam! I love algebra and problem solving... as someone who struggled with math for years I understand the frustration of misunderstanding. Fear not! I am so excited to help students overcome their struggles just like I did. I graduated from Evergreen High School in Colorado last year where I tutored many of my peers since sophomore year. After years of struggling with ADHD and poor test taking/studying skills, I finally figured out what works for me and I love to help other students figure out a good solution for themselves as well. I am majoring in Audio Engineering in the Jacobs School of Music, but I have always loved math and writing. I am planning on minoring in secondary education as well;) I am passionate about teaching and take every chance I get to help other students. I am a great editor (and I enjoy editing papers) and I have experience helping with essay writing, reading comprehension, and overall reading strategies. I would love to help students with any math between Algebra-I and Algebra II (or middle school math!).

When I was a kid, I struggled a lot to learn in a traditional classroom setting. I didn't understand why I had to sit still and why I wasn't allowed to make my own schedule and explore my own interests. It was so hard for me to focus on subjects that I didn't enjoy and to sit still for a long period of time. As an adult, I realized how much I would've benefitted from a teacher that would take the time to teach me in a way my brain could understand. Someone who cared about MY interests and passions and would use that information to engage me in subjects I wasn't as crazy about. Someone who could be patient and creative and who believed in me! I ended up becoming the type of teacher I always needed as a kid. I care about my students and their individual paths and truly believe that we all have our own unique way of learning! For the last 5 years, I’ve been teaching music to children of all ages. I've worked in a couple of different music schools as well as my own private lessons teaching piano, guitar, and vocal training. I teach my students to write music using the skills they already had while also developing new ones. I’ve found songwriting to be not only an amazing tool for my own life, but to be an amazing way for children to express their feelings and use their imagination and creativity. With my extensive experience in music, songwriting and music education, i've found that I have the expertise to teach reading, writing, and speech. I have studied vocal technique and songwriting for the last 10 years. I received my Bachelor of Music degree from The City College of New York in June of 2022.
