So far, 4 of my brothers have followed my footsteps through higher education. My other 2 brothers are still in high school; my sister is still in elementary school. After studying for the SAT for years (since the 8th grade), I have an extremely comprehensive experience with the exam and its questions. In my first attempt, I was able to score a 1460 and on the second, I raised that to a 1540 (99th percentile). After this, I felt very confident in my ability to share my knowledge and experiences in mastering the SAT. So, I decided to start tutoring my friends and other students at my local library. I directly worked with 3-4 students at a time and provided them with very useful tips and tricks to rapidly improve their math scores on the SAT. After seeing the improved results of the students I tutored, I became very passionate about tutoring SAT Test prep. In my tutoring lessons, I will start off by understanding students' baseline scores, their goals, and the areas that they wish to improve. During tutoring, I will explain online by going through official SAT Test Prep lesson plans and then go on to explicitly teach them the concepts necessary to answer questions on all sections of the SAT. Focusing on weaknesses and motivating students to continue practicing problems consistently is my specialty and it has gone to improve their SAT scores significantly. I will also provide several resources to find SAT test problems online and practice with real tests as well.

After seven years of teaching test prep at all levels and three additional years teaching sixth grade math within New York's charter school system, I've decided I'd actually like to do what I'm best at: help people learn! While I'm more than happy to help you reach your goals on a standardized test, I don't want to have to use materials that I don't think are well suited to that test simply because they are the materials provided by the service I happen to work for. Although I'm excited to help young scholars realize that maybe middle school math isn't quite as tough as they thought, I cannot do that when I have to use a curriculum that makes every step of the math more difficult. Therefore, I've decided to start a new chapter in my career by providing my services freelance. I have a variety of talents, interests, and experience, which I strongly feel make me a well-rounded, seasoned educator. Typically, services that I have worked for have charged anything from $69-$189 per hour for test prep or even homework help, often sending in a tutor with less experience than myself (I know, I used to be that less experienced tutor). As I gain a client base and learn the ropes of providing my expertise without the support of a traditional tutoring service, I'm offering the same level of knowledge (and most likely more personality) for **less than half the price** of a traditional service.
