À propos

Rather than a “top-down” approach delivering material for students to passively absorb, my tutoring focuses on your active processes as a learner constructing knowledge and making meaning of the material for yourself. I seek to learn about your background knowledge and skills, determine what your current needs are, then work beside you to build and refine conceptual frameworks and problem-solving strategies for you to find success on your own terms. Besides being a content expert in math and statistics, I am a research-driven learning specialist dedicated to helping you cultivate effective learning strategies along all stages of your journey as a scholar. My goal is not just to address your current questions and concerns, but also to help you master the tools needed to confidently construct the answers for yourself both now and beyond. Within my experiences teaching, tutoring, and training undergraduate tutors at UC Berkeley, I developed a nuanced, research-driven understanding of the factors that both enable and inhibit students in developing mastery of their course material. I’ve tutored and supported a wide range of math and stats courses, and identified what works best to meet the evolving learning needs throughout your academic journey, across both traditional and online learning environments.
