CELTA trainer with teaching experience in Asia

I taught English to students aged from 3-12 years old. I consistently taught over 120 students per week and successfully maintained my student numbers whilst recruiting new pupils through individual assessments. My role each day was varied, from teaching letter recognition and letter sounds, to more sophisticated phonics blending and stretching, progressing to guiding the children to visually blend in the reading programme, then beginning to think critically about texts. I created my own extensive materials to make learning fun and interactive for my classes at all levels, and I took pride in watching my young learners grow. I focused on nurturing curious and creative thinkers in my older primary classes. The holistic model of the curriculum encouraged the students to further hone their productive skills of writing and speaking, skills that are harder to attain and less practiced at school. My personal objective was to get children excited about reading English as I believe this is invaluable to their development and confidence using English.
